All matches count towards your verified UTR rating

  • Registration Deadline: April 22
  • Season: May 4 - June 22
  • Potential Playoff: TBA
  • Format: 4 Singles & 2 Doubles Line

Fees:

  • All players must be a member at the Murrieta Tennis Club at the time of sign-up and during the league season, no exceptions. Players can not sign up unless they are a member.
  • MTC Fee $80 per player per team. Includes T-shirt, Tennis Balls for match & administrative fee. This fee must be paid at the time of registration. MTC sign-up fees are non-refundable after 4/22/2024.
  • UTR Fee $35/season for players, if not a Power Subscriber - additional $12 verified (league) fee. This fee is paid by the player once you receive your team from MTC under UTR Player Registration below. UTR Fees are non-refundable. Playoff's require an additional UTR Fee paid by the players.
  • Coaching is not included. A parent volunteer for coaching is required at every match. Matches without a parent volunteer coach are subject to cancellation without a makeup date.

Registration Steps:

  • Become a member at the Murrieta Tennis Club. If you are currently not a member click here to join now. http://murrietatennisclub.com/membership 
  • Sign-up for MTC UTR Team Tennis for the Winter Season (here).
  • Email us your child’s t-shirt size by 4/22/2024. This must be received by 4/22/2024 otherwise we will estimate your child’s shirt size.
  • Once teams are formed you will receive an email with your team. You may then register your player on the team with the UTR.

  • Before a player’s first match is played, registration must be completed on the UTR website. Coaches are responsible for ensuring their players are registered on time. Any player who plays a match prior to registering will put their own score and team score at risk of not counting.
  • Please make sure you register for the correct UTR division based on your Rating at the time of registration. If you are unrated or new to playing matches/tournaments, please register for the UTR 1-2.99 group.

Teams:

  • Teams will be formed by MTC once registration closes. Once teams are formed, players will be notified by email.
  • Match Schedule:
  • We will email the match schedule once we receive it to players.. Please rely on the weekly emails for the most accurate match information.
  • 6 (6)-week schedule with 6 head-to-head matches against teams in your Hub ○ Hub = 4 teams per division (ie: 4 teams playing HTH in Boys 1-3 division)
  • Teams will have 3 home matches and 3 away matches
  • Each team must play in all six (6) H2H matches to qualify for postseason
  • Auto-scheduler generates matchups
  • Progression of post season will depend on number of leagues in the area

Match Availability:

  • Once the season begins each week, by Monday, you will receive an email letting you know When and Where the match is for the upcoming weekend. Please respond to that email whether you CAN or CAN'T play. If you are NOT SURE, please let us know the date that you will be able to confirm. We will send out a Final Confirmation email on Thursday morning with a list of who is playing in the match.

Match Day:

  • Please show up at the match site 30 min prior to the match. Please wear your team shirt. The tennis balls will be provided.
  • A parent volunteer for coaching is required at every match. Matches without a parent volunteer coach are subject to cancellation without a makeup date.

Player & Parent Guidelines:

Format:

  • All matches count towards your verified UTR Rating.
  • Small Team Format (2 doubles, 4 singles). Two Fast 4 Sets, w/ 7 pt tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd set, 7 point tiebreaker at 3-3 NO AD Scoring. Some sessions could include a timed match format.
  • Divisions: Coed UTR 1-2.99, 3-4.99, 5-6.99

Playoffs:

  • Winning teams must have played all 6 regular season matches in order to be eligible for playoffs. The winning team of the regular season will advance to a City Playoff (group of 4 teams). The winner of the City playoff will advance to the Area playoff, which will consist of another group of 4 teams. Area playoff winners will advance to the State Championship for the season. If the winning team is unable to attend any level of playoffs, a wildcard team may be selected by UT.
  • Players must have played at least 4 regular season matches to be eligible to continue to play for their winning team in subsequent playoff rounds.

UTR Rules and Regulations:

  • Participation Requirements (Age & UTR): Under 18 years of age
  • Universal Tennis does not guarantee the number of matches per player per event. That is at the discretion of your participating Club & Team Coach.
  • Locations: It is up to the Participating Clubs and Team Tennis Manager (appointed by Universal Tennis) to develop a clear conference schedule including dates and locations.
  • Line Calls: A minimum of two Team Coaches should be present (one per team) and available to mitigate disputes. We expect the highest level of honesty and integrity from players. The Team Tennis Manager reserves the right to disqualify you from the team if he or she receives three or more complaints.
  • Miscellaneous time delays: If during a match there is any kind of stalling or time delay the organizer has the right to extend match time at their discretion or give a game penalty.
  • Canceling Matches: If you can not participate in a match please convey this directly to your participating Team Tennis Manager and Team Coach.
  • Reporting scores: Players should report scores directly to your Team Coach. Coaches will report the scores on the UT website.
